Unbroken Review

If you are looking for some quick advice on whether or not you should go see Unbroken in theatres I will answer that with a simple: Yes. This movie was one of the most inspiring and heart wrenching films I have ever seen.

If you do decide to see this movie here is a list of people you should and should not see this movie with:

Should:

  • Your mother
  • Your grandmother
  • Your sister
  • Your girlfriend
  • Yourself
  • That one friend of yours that you can get uncomfortably emotional around and have an unspoken agreement with to never speak of it again.

Should Not:

  • Your brother
  • Your group of friends
  • Your sci-fi loving neighbour with the obscenely large action figure collection
  • Basically anyone that cannot handle emotional movies or uncomfortable situations

For anyone that does not know what this movie is about, I will give you a brief synopsis of this incredible true story. Olympic Athlete Louis Zamperini faces several of the most radical and unfathomable challenges after a near fatal plane crash in WWII. Louis spends over a month at sea in a life raft only to be caught by the Japanese Navy and thrown in a refugee camp as a prisoner of war.

Avengers News! What will be the Fate of The Flash Series? And Speculation on the Future of the MCU!

What does the future hold for the Incredible Hulk?

In a recent interview with Total Film, Mark Ruffalo brings us up to speed on Bruce Banner’s current living and work environments. Banner is now living in Stark Tower and working alongside Tony Stark himself.

“He’s doing work that augments Tony’s own, which could lead to an experiment going wrong…” This may be a hint at the creation of Ultron and the mishap that turns the bot into the movies antagonist.

Ruffalo also acknowledges The Hulk’s current struggle with himself: “the battle of identity going on between him and Banner is all about establishing dominance. The only thing that Hulk is really afraid of is Banner.” This may lead into the intelligent Hulk appearing in the MCU.

Ruffalo returns as The Incredible Hulk and Bruce Banner May 1st 2015!

Rent or Buy? New Movie Releases for the Week of December 22nd

So this week, unlike last week, had much less “big” movies. The new releases that we are going to focus on are; Stonehearst Asylum, The Good Lie, The Longest Week, and an honourary mention of Skeleton Twins which was released a week early in Canada but I never got a chance to talk about. The releases this week are definitely not as strong as previous weeks but they incorporate different types of stories such as; Gothic drama, hipster comedy, true stories, and a family drama.

Game Release News: Uncharted 4 and Final Fantasy XV

In the past week two new trailers for Uncharted 4 and Final Fantasy 15 have been released. Both of these games I have been over the top excited for. Both games are going to be released on the PS4 sometime in the New Year (a perfect time for me to buy the new system). The new Uncharted game continues to follow treasure hunter, Nathan Drake, … Continue reading Game Release News: Uncharted 4 and Final Fantasy XV

Minecraft Story Mode and a Merry Gta!

Minecraft News!

Earlier today Tell Tale Games announced that they have partnered with none other than Mojang to create a new episodic version of the open world, creative outlet we have come to know and love. As a fan of the original game, I have to say I was a little surprised by the partnership. Minecraft was always known as the place where a player can explore, create, and destroy as they please and the news of a storied version of that world seemed a little bit counterproductive.

I have yet to play a single game that Tell Tale has created, but with the reviews being so generous, I had to give it the benefit of the doubt. With affirmation of the original artwork and style of Mojang’s creation, I have something to look forward to with this game.

According to Tell Tale’s Blog, the game will be an all new narrative, with a new story, and the introduction of some brand new characters to the world of Minecraft. Thankfully the game will be driven by the player’s choices, similar to the other games the company has produced.

After a lot of thinking, this game may be something worth checking out.

Orphan Black Season 3 New Teaser Trailer

Earlier today the newest trailer for one of the best television shows, Orphan Black, was released today. Although we don’t see much in the trailer we do get a glimpse at the new male clones as well as a disheveled Helena. Season 3, premiering April 18th, looks to have it’s hands full this year….not that I’m complaining. Here’s hoping to another phenomenal season and maybe … Continue reading Orphan Black Season 3 New Teaser Trailer

Rent or Buy? New Movie Releases for the Week of December 15th

There were a slew of solid new releases this week varying from films with family drama, childhood nostalgia, charming trickery, a hilarious horror/comedy and a surprise young adult novel turned motion picutre. The four main movies we will focus on will be; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the revamped CGI version), This is Where I Leave You (a heartwarming yet hilarious drama), Magic in the Moonlight (one of Woody Allen’s latest charming films), Horns (a surprisingly sometimes uncomfortable, hilarious horror) and, The Maze Runner (an intriguing dystopian society type movie)
